NOTIFICATION REGARDING THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA IN THE CONTEXT OF A VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM (CCTV)

The company under the corporate name «ION SA COCOA AND CHOCOLATE MANUFACTURERS», established at Neo Faliro, Piraeus (address: Eleftheriou Venizelou str., no. 69, Postal Code: 18547) (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”) notifies you of the following regarding the closed circuit television (CCTV) system operating at its premises:

  1. The monitoring and processing of your personal data (your image) is necessary for the purpose of preventing, deterring, and suppressing illegal activities.
  2. The legal basis for processing the above personal data is the necessity of such processing for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the Company, as described above, which override your interests, fundamental rights, and freedoms (Article 6, para. 1, section (f) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the General Data Protection Regulation, “GDPR”). 
  3. In addition to third parties acting on behalf of the Company (e.g., IT service providers), recipients of your personal data may include competent judicial, prosecutorial, and police authorities, or individuals who are identified as victims or perpetrators of the aforementioned illegal activities. 
  4. Your personal data will not be transferred outside the European Union. 
  5. The data will be destroyed within 15 days, unless a longer retention period is permitted or required under applicable laws/regulations. 
  6. If you wish to exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion, restriction, or objection to the processing of your personal data, as well as your right to data portability, you may contact the Company via email at: privacy@ion.gr, or by sending a letter to the address provided above. All other means of communication (e.g., fax or telephone) are expressly excluded. 
  7. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent Data Protection Authority (for Greece: www.dpa.gr). 
  8. To the extent that the Company acts, for the purposes of operating the CCTV system, as a joint controller together with a third company, within the meaning of Article 26 of the GDPR, the corporate name of such third company shall be indicated on the relevant on-site signage. In any case, data subjects may contact the Company, using the contact details provided under point 6 above, either to exercise their rights or to obtain further information regarding the joint controllership arrangement.
